Te wiki o Te Reo Maori Language week!

Term 3, Week 8

Kia Ora whanau

This week was Maori language week. Room 14 read a shared book in Te Reo about  colours and shapes. We listened to a new song from six60- Don't forget your roots. The girls were using their poi to the waiata. It was awesome to see! The tamariki made lots of words using play dough and  magnetic alphabet letters.

I captured some awesome videos and photos
Pererika and Dayton holding their certificates. Pererika was so excited to receive his certificate for always being kind  and caring to his peers. Dayton has been more engaged this week in his learning! Keep on working hard boys.

Freedom found a really interesting place to complete his Te Reo  writing and drawing.

Trey and Carlos made lots of words in Te Reo using the magnetic letters and the words from the Maori alphabet.

Lachie made the word Poi out of play dough.

Carlos made 4 words in Te Reo using the magnetic letters.

There is only 2 weeks left of school for term 3. So many of the tamariki in room 14 are making amazing progress in reading, writing and Math. Let's all keep up the hard work and achieve greatness together!

I hope you all have a great week. I'm hoping the sun comes out and the children will get some time outside to soak up the vitamin D.
