Thank you to everyone that came to the whanau meeting on  Thursday afternoon regarding the Teina roopu trip to Auckland in August.

It was great to hear that we wanted all the tamariki to attend. Permission slips went home on Friday. These are due back to school next Friday 2nd July.

The Last day for payment for the trip will be Friday 9th July  or  through a prior payment arrangement.

We will be at the Thurday market next week. Please come along and support us to raise $$$$ for the Auckland trip.

Next Wednesday is the Matariki afternoon from 2-6pm, please come along and have a  yummy kai, listen to some waiata and meet the teacher.

These were the photos I captured  this week...

Manawa  received a netball certificate from Mrs Neale for awesome                                                          netball skills and for looking down the court.
Drea  was very proud showing us his reading award, for having a                                                               positive attitude to reading.
Waimirirangi and Che'la  worked together to build a tower.

I hope you have a great weekend  and keep dry. Only two more weeks  of school to go until the holidays.

Thank you very much for your continued support at the Thursday night Market. We raised after costs $242.00. We are on track with our fundraising but we need to keep the momentum moving.

Next Thursday we have a whanau hui relating to the Auckland trip. It will be awesome to see as many  families as we can attend. If you can't make it, let me know and I  cangive you the information  about the trip we were going to be discussing!!

Amiria had her birthday party at school on Friday. She  is turning 6 on Sunday. Aunty  Kowhai and Aunty Whina brought her some yummy birthday food to share with her friends in Room 15.

It's  lovely when Whanau are involved in their tamariki's life. It makes relationships so much easier to manage.

Amiria celebrated her birthday early with her mete's in Room 15
Blue and Amiria capturing a special whanau moment!!
Manawa wrote a sentence using the "word" of the day.
Mittens came in for a visit with Che'la.
                                                     Amiria's amazing 6th Birthday Cake.

Treasures in the Sandpit and words of Aroha!!

 Saturday 12th June 2021

Kia Ora Whanau/Caregivers

I can't believe it is week 6 already only 4 weeks to go until we come to the end of term 2. The last day of school this term is Friday 9th July.

It has been really cold and rainy this week. Please make sure tamariki  come to school with warm clothing. The wind has been very nippy while the tamariki are trying to get outside at morning tea and lunch times for some fresh air.

Room 15 are really enjoying Friday Play based Learning  with the Teina  Tamariki. Lots of Oral Language has been seen and heard. Tamariki are turn taking and  using their  kind words to one another.

Van Wayne and Cruize found a Sandy long worm in the Sandpit.                                                                Both boys put it back  on the grass so the worm could  slide it's way to                                                       a  safer home in the soil away from little fingers.

This week we have focused on learning our basic sight words in a fun and hands on way using countdown Dominoe's and wooden rods.

Maia wrote me a beautiful note. I really appreciate  how much effort she puts into her learning and  Kindness towards me.
This is typical Sean! He is always  showing us his cool moves and  every day with Sean is such a pleasure.

Waimirirangi, Van-Wayne, Reign and Cruize  were super lucky to get their name pulled out of the Mana card box. They were given a FREE Ticket or half- price Ticket to Walking with the Dinosaurs in Kerikeri from 12-20th June.   Amazing Dinosaur Discovery Kerikeri

The Kaiako are going  to be at the Thursday Market next week from 3pm. Please come and support the Teina Tamariki so we can raise some $$$ for our trip to Kelly Tarlton's and the Auckland Zoo  at the end of August.

If you have any home baking please drop it off to us at the Market. All the Kaiako really appreciate all your support.

I hope everyone is enjoying a lovely relaxing  Queens birthday weekend.  I hope everyone is keeping safe and dry with  the heavy rain and wind about. We are half way through the term and  the Teina Kaikako are in  full swing raising $$$$ for the Teina Roopu trip to Kelly Tartlon's and Auckland Zoo at the end of August.

If you have any fantastic fundraising ideas please come and see me or another Teina Kaiako to put your ideas into action. We have lots of great ideas to put in place.  We will be at the Kaikohe Market next Thursday 10th June from 3pm. Please come and awhi the Tamariki. We are asking for Support from Whanau to bake a cake, slice, muffins or something delicious that is your signature piece.

If you have any surplus fruit or watercress that would be fabulous as well.

Manawa, Che'la and Blue were happy to experiment with the                                                               Domino's.

Silas, Drea and Peter were working collaboratively to complete                                                          the Alphabet puzzle. Ka Pai boys!!

Aalacaey was completing some Math assessment for me this week. He                                               has made such amazing progress. Keep up the great thinking in you                                                   Math brain.
Peter and Cruize have been making amazing progress as Reader's. I am so impressed how far these boys have come. Both boys have fantastic support from home which makes a huge difference! Thank you Doug and Shontelle for being Ka mau te wehi Parents and helping Peter  to develop the best to his potential . Thank you JaniceAnn for supporting Cruize reading at home.
Drea  made a paper plane and loved  flying it during Play based                                                           Learning on Friday afternoon.

Maia created this simply aatahua painting . She told me it was                                                            me and you Mrs Birchall. Very precious Maia, it's an honor to                                                              be included in your  creativity and Art.

I will be away on Medical Leave next Thursday.  Room 15 will be split for the day.  I have put a  list on the front door where your precious Tamariki will be for the day. Keep the Sponsorship  card coming in , please come and give your money to Chanelle in the office. Thank you very much for supporting your Tamriki 's effort raising money for our trip to Auckland.

Very soon we will be having a whanau meeting regarding the Trip to Auckland. We will keep you informed when and where!!

Just a quick reminder, if you need anything or just want to come in and see your Tamariki in action you will be always warmly welcomed with a cup of Herbal Tea, Tea, Coffee and a piece of Fruit. I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday.
