Chocolate cake frenzy and fun math activities

Term 3, Week 8

Kia Ora Whanau

We have had another busy week, with only one week to go until holidays.  This week we had Ray Bishop come and speak at our Duffy Assembly, he has been on TV, and he sang us a Bob Marley song.

This week we have been using materials to solve 2x Tables, Terence, Wakaroa and Monique  were  pretty impressive with their problem solving capabilities.  DannaMarie made a yummy chocolate cake with Whaea Lee on Wednesday.

Tinfoil Sculputures

Term 3, Week 7

Kia Ora Whanau

Wow, another fantastic week. I was away Monday and Tuesday this week and all the tamariki were so well behaved, thank you for displaying great behaviour and learning for Mrs Pearson.

This week we were finishing up looking at Rio Olympics 2016, we were experimenting making Olympians from tinfoil. some of them came out really well. It was quite tricky working with tinfoil as it is a different art medium. Vaughan made the most amazing sculputure of an Olympian cycling.

I have just finished writing reports for this term. We are having our report afternoon from 3.30-6.30 Tuesday 20th September. I will send a note home early net week to let you know what tamariki are getting reports.  Just ring the main office for a time, Thanks.

Room 8 had the most fabulous mat manners at assembly on Friday. Matua Kevin and Mrs Smith even commented at Assembly!!!  I was a very proud teacher, so hard work, praise, encouragement and effort does pay off in the end.

Here are some certificates from Friday's Assembly

Successful Achievement for everyone!!

Term 3, Week 6

Kia Ora Whanau

This week a very special girl called DannaMarie  achieved success. She was able to order the numbers from 1-5. I felt very proud of her. Room 8 supports DannaMarie every day with her learning, I wanted to share this amazing achievement with everyone. She can also spell and recognise the word IS!!!

Super other children achieved success by moving up 2 reading levels, well done to Benjamin and Terence, Both of you both are becoming  confident risk taking readers.

I hope all the Fathers have a fantastic Father's day on Sunday.  The tamarki made  some wonderful cards and we entered a Father's day  colouring competition  sponsored by the Kaikohe Pioneer Village. The children had to write a few sentences describing .....  My Dad is a great dad because...  the responses were amazing!!!!

AnaheraT, Benjamin, Terence and Casey with her Hockey certificate.

DannaMarie ordered numbers from 1-5!!
