Welcome back to 2016

Term 1,Week 4

Hi whanau/Parents/Caregivers

This is our first post of 2016 for Room 8. I am excited to be Room 8's Teacher for 2016. I am enjoying getting to know my awesome class of learners. I am going to add to this post my letter sent out to all parents letting everyone know what is happening this term.

Welcome back to term one 2016

Wow I am excited to be back to school it’s going to be an amazing year. My name is Louise Birchall and I teach your tamariki in room 8, I have been teaching at kaikohe west for the last 2 and a half years.

This term our focus is centred on getting to know your child what their strengths are and what we can do to develop a teacher to child relationship. We will be establishing easy routines this term so our learning will be easier to implement and the children will feel comfortable in their learning space.

Your child will be bringing home their book bags Monday-Thursday and their poem book on a Friday.

I would really appreciate your support over the year, whatever you can do to support and motivate your child would be fantastic. Readers will be starting to go home from Week 4, if you can listen to your child each night read would be tremendous. Swimming from week three will be on Tuesday and Wednesday, please ensure your tamariki will bring their togs and towel in a  plastic bag on these days.
Let’s all work together and have a great year at Kaikohe West School.

If you have any questions please come in and ask, we have an open door policy at school.
