Room 14 has awesome Dad's

Term 3, week 6

Kia Ora Whanau

This week we focused our mahi around our dad's. Father's day is this Sunday and we wanted to spend some time thinking about all the things  our Dad does for us and how he makes us feel.

Thank you to Tavien's whanau for coming to assembly to see her receive her certificate!  Tavien was excited all week and couldn't wait until Friday. Even her little sister London came and sat with room  14.

This week we extend a huge welcome to Yahrntaey and her whanau. She has moved all the way from Christchurch. Yahrntaey has settled nicely into room 14.

Jevahn came to assembly to  receive his Fathers day  book , chocolates and cup from the school.

Yahrntaey and Taiven  with their class certificates.

Here's our two awesome Dad's,  Kayn and Jevahn

Yahrntaey, Sienna, Carlos and Alicia  had their names picked out of the yellow card box. Each child received a FREE book.

Tavien's parents came to watch her receive her certificate at our school assembly. London came as well.

I hope all the dad's in room 14 have an awesome Father's day!!

Welcome back to Term 3!!!!  Room 14’s newsletter for this term is about reinforcing what we are learning about, up and coming events and how you can support your child to be the best that they can be!
Our Inquiry focus this term is investigating what we can find out about another country ie- Egypt and we will continue to look at Mana Whenua until week 5. The weather is becoming colder. Please put in another jumper into your child’s bag.

Our school cross country will be taking place  Wednesday 14th August. Times will be confirmed closer to the time, it would be lovely to see you at school cheering and encouraging your child to try their best. We will be having whole school cross country practice every Tuesday and Thursday at 2pm, meeting on the back field. It would be great if you could join in to support your tamariki!

Room 14’s class blog is http - kwsbirchall.blogspot.co.nz  The children love having their mahi commented on please come and visit our blog so you can capture your child’s learning in action.
My class has a planning site that you can also visit, https://sites.google.com/a/kaikohewest.school.nz/room8-2016/?pli=1

I would really appreciate your continued support to listen to your child read each night, please record their learning in the reading log. Some tamariki already have read over 60 nights in a row!!  Please remember they need to bring their book bag to school each day.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me via phone, email or a school visit.Your continued whanau support is everything to your own child!
