Pirate and Pizza day!!

 Sunday 18th April 2021

Kia- Ora Whanau

Well its been a massive week at school, the tamariki have worked hard and  are looking forward to a break with  their Whanau so they can come back refreshed for Term 2.

We had a  "P " day at school on Thursday. It was inspired from Mrs Neale. Pizza and Pirate day was lots of fun. We made Pirate hats and dressed up like a Pirate, we spoke like Pirates, we listened to Pirate stories and ate home made delicious Pizzas.

Pirate Peter, Pirate Manawa and Pirate Ngatikopaki.

Room 15 wearing our Pirate Hats!!

Manawa received a special award for making lots of great learning                                                            progress as  a determined and happy learner.

Ngatikopaki  received a  special prize on Thursday afternoon. All of the classes who had dressed up came down to Tawaranui  to show off their Pirate Costumes.  Ngatikopaki was excited  to show everyone his Pirate  Costume.

I hope you all have a terrific holiday. Please don't forget the first Monday back is a Teacher only day. School  starts on Tuesday  4th May 2021.

Super Proud Teacher

Kia Ora Whanau/Caregivers

We have had a great few days at school this week.  Because last week was so crazy busy, we finished off our Easter baskets from last week. All the tamariki were excited even though it was a week late we still had heaps of fun decorating  them.

Gerrat  from Room 12 helped us to complete the final few baskets. I needed a little bit  of help  as this was new learning and Gerrat was  a great help!!

I liked the way everyone tried their best when it came to cutting out  and folding the baskets. I was a super proud Teacher  last week, Maiaorere won 1  of the 5 prizes in the Easter colouring competition drawn before Easter. He took his time to colour in  and didn't leave any sneaky white. Maiaorere choose some nice colours that complemented one another.

Casey was choosen to  receive the weekly class certificate. She shows kindness to her friends and always has a positive attitude towards her learning.

Room 15 completed  their Aroha Poster this week. I was really proud of their finished Poster. Everyone worked together to produce a  great piece of work.

Maiaorere with his Prize after  he won one of the prizes in the Easter                                                         colouring competition.

                                            Room 15's completed Aroha Poster.

Casey was very proud of her Certificate she received at assembly on                                                          Friday.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and you are enjoying this extra rain we are receiving  this weekend.

Kaikohe West School Noho 2021

 Tuesday 6th April 2021

Kia Ora Whanau/Caregivers

I hope everyone has had a relaxing Easter break. Noho 2021 was a fabulous time of fun and adventures. Room 15 had so much fun ranging from sleeping over in Room 10 and 11, seeing Tane Mahutu for the first time and experiencing Manea footprints for the first time. The Pioneer Village was a great educational experience for all. I think the highlight was  a ride on the  train for many of the tamariki and Kaiako.

I was driving the School Van with Room 15 boys, the rest of the tamariki were in the buses. I would like to say a MASSIVE  thank you to Doug Brown who slept over in Room 11 with the boys.

Without Whanau support  trips and camps could never go ahead. I captured some special photos for  everyone to view. A special thank you to Danielle, Kowhai, Whina and  Amiria's Mum for supporting us on the trip to Tane Mututa and Manea footprints at Opononi.

All the tamariki were fascinated with the Jail cell!!

Aalacaey loved going for a ride on the old Train at the Pioneer Village

The boys and I  had a photo opportunity at Tane Mahuta.

It was great to read some history relating to Tane Muhuta- The Lord                                                          of the forest.

I hope  everyone has a fantastic  long weekend. I look forward to seeing  tamariki back at school Wednesday 7th April.
