Tinfoil Sculputures
Term 3, Week 7
Kia Ora Whanau
Wow, another fantastic week. I was away Monday and Tuesday this week and all the tamariki were so well behaved, thank you for displaying great behaviour and learning for Mrs Pearson.
This week we were finishing up looking at Rio Olympics 2016, we were experimenting making Olympians from tinfoil. some of them came out really well. It was quite tricky working with tinfoil as it is a different art medium. Vaughan made the most amazing sculputure of an Olympian cycling.
I have just finished writing reports for this term. We are having our report afternoon from 3.30-6.30 Tuesday 20th September. I will send a note home early net week to let you know what tamariki are getting reports. Just ring the main office for a time, Thanks.
Room 8 had the most fabulous mat manners at assembly on Friday. Matua Kevin and Mrs Smith even commented at Assembly!!! I was a very proud teacher, so hard work, praise, encouragement and effort does pay off in the end.
Here are some certificates from Friday's Assembly

Our Inquiry focus this term is connected to community, we will be having a mini Olympics later in the term. We will be looking at the Rio Olympics, questions will be generated by the tamariki, so their inquiry will be more meaningful and child centered.
Our school cross country will be taking place Thursday 11th August. Times will be confirmed closer to the time, it would be lovely to see you at school cheering and encouraging your child to try their best.
Room 8’s class blog is http - kwsbirchall.blogspot.co.nz The children love having their mahi commented on please come and visit our blog so you can capture your child’s learning in action.
