Lots of fun and learning in Room 15

 Saturday 27th March 2021

Kia Ora Whanau

It's been a busy week in room 15. Everyone has their permission  slips in for Noho. Thank you to all the whanau that have supported us getting organised for Noho 2021.

The boys from room 15 will be sleeping in room 11 and the girls will be sleeping in room 10. Please bring your  personal property to these rooms when you get to school on Tuesday morning.

Room 15 had afternoon tea with Ma Te Hira on Friday. Everyone  shared a                                              yummy  Butter Chicken pizza together. It looked and smelt delicious. It          always pays to display and show Mana Values. It's awesome to be recognised. Keep up the great  behaviour room 15.
Tookie and Aalacaey received a certificate this week for showing a huge improvement in their reading ability and by  demonstrating an ability to decode tricky sight words.
Manawa turned 6 on Wednesday this year. Her Nana brought hollow                                                          Chocolate Easter eggs and  Iceblocks to share with her friends.
Room 15 love eating their Healthy Subway Lunches every day!!
Manawa's mum brought in an amazing cake from Lens Pies to share with                                                  the class. It looked and tasted Tino Reka. Thank you Quee.
I love this photo of Room 15 because everyone was at school on  Thursday.                                             100% attendance is always our goal. Please keep it up Whanau.

Have a great weekend. I can't wait until next week, it's going to be so much fun.

Room 15 Tamariki

 Sunday 21st March 2021

Kia Ora Whanau

This week Whaea Raewyn  asked the  Kaiako  to take a photo of their class for the 2021 yearbook. I was happy to do it on Wednesday as we had 17 out of 18 tamariki at school. That was a day of great attendance. I wanted to show everyone how gorgeous all the tamariki looked.

Everyone looking so happy in room 15

Manawa was making her sister Puriri a birthday card. She turned 3 on                                                       Wednesday. We love showing aroha to our whanau in room 15.

Camp is  nearly here in just over a week. We still need 5 permission slips to go, please keep them rolling in.

I hope you all have a happy weekend.

Helpful Reminders

 Saturday 13th March 2021

Kia Ora Whanau

I have noticed not many tamariki are swimming at the moment. I  wanted to remind you all that swimming days for room 15 are Monday and Thursday. Could you  help your tamariki  by putting their swimming togs and towel in the bags please.

Swimming is an important part of the health and physical education  curriculum.

Our School Noho is coming up quickly in 3 weeks. I still require another 6 tamariki to return their  permission slips to attend camp.

The days are getting colder in the mornings. Could you please put another jumper or jacket in your tamariki's bag. It's easy to take off if it gets warmer during the day.

Please get in touch by phone or email if your tamariki is going to be away. I have noticed a few tamariki are having  unexplained absences. Please ring the school 0800 number  and leave a message for Whaea Chanelle  with an explanation why your child is away from school.

Kaikohe West School's number is 0800 524 937  👍

Have a fabulous weekend.

Healthy Lunches

 Saturday 6th March 2021

Kia Ora Whanau

How  are you all this week?? It's been very eventful with the change in Covid levels, an earthquake and the Tsunami on Friday at the Kermadec islands near Fiji.

The tamariki in room 15 have coped really well with the changes and uncertainty during this week. To keep everyone safe Management decided to Postpone our school Noho until Tuesday 30th March. I feel this was a good decision for everyone concerned.

Now we can count down the days until  we can have our School Noho. I captured some cool photos of students achieving and showing successful through the week.

Room 15 are loving the delicious subway subs and strawberry yoghurt this week. They weren't sure about the Tomato, Cucumber, Green pepper and Red onion. I'm sure over time  they will get used to eating new vegetables and the bonus will be tamariki becoming healthier!! it's a win win for everyone.

Amiria has been busy writing lots of basic sight words!! yay, keep up the great  learning and                    enthusiasm for learning!!
Waimirirangi and Van-Wayne were busy practicing the letter Oo.
Che'la received a class certificate on Friday. She was acknowledged for always giving 100%  of effort to her learning.
This is what the tamariki ate  for Lunch on Friday. They had a salami sub and a yoghurt.

This week we have had 2 new tamariki join us in room 15. I would like to warmly welcome  Ngatikopaki and Maiaorere to room 15.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend.
