Kia Ora Whanau/Caregivers

Gosh It's been a  very interesting week. We have been busy   making great progress  in our reading levels.  Peter and Manawa are moving to Level 13 next week and Aalacaey and Nivanah are reading with lots of confidence at Level 6. Sean just moved to Level 5 and Maia is reading with added confidence at Level 10.

Waimirirangi  was having lots of fun on the  monkey bars!!
Maia wanted a picture hanging upside down on the Monkey bars.

Another Waimirirangi masterpiece. This was created during our                                                               Friday play based learning.

Peter and Manawa made the word of the day going using wooden blocks!!

Kingston was having fun in the Sandpit on Friday.

Please continue to get Sponsorship  to raise money  for our trip to Auckland in August. You will need to get $55 to fill up the card then an extra $25 on top. This equals $80.00.

I have 10 raffle tickets available  if you are keen to buy a $10 ticket to get a chance to win a Korowai.
Please see me if interested.

Have a great weekend, keep warm as it's freezing  outside!!

Friday Play based Learning

Kia Ora Whanau/Caregivers

We have had another busy week in room 15. I was away sick on Tuesday and had CRT Release  completing testing on Wednesday. I was really pleased how much progress Manawa, Peter, Sean, Maia and Nivanah had made in their reading levels.

Maia moved up 4 Levels. Manawa and Peter  tested correctly at Level 12 and Sean read with amazing confidence at Level 4. He will  be moving to Level 5 next week.

On Thursday night we were at the Markets. The Teina Kaiako raised $450.00 for out trip to Kelly Tartlon's and the Zoo.  Thank you for all the amazing support we received from  our whanau from help in baking cakes and slices to helping on the BBQ. We are hoping to  be down at the market again in the next few weeks.

Nivanah was having fun on the slide during our Friday Play based                                                            learning sessions with all the Teina school together.
Aalacaey and Maia received certificates this week  because they  have been                                              making such amazing progress in their reading and for reading lots of basic                                              sight words with fluency.

I hope  everyone has  fun getting sponsorship  to raise  dollars for Kelly Tartlon's trip in August.

Have a great weekend.

Giant Skateboard!!

 Sunday 16th May  2021

Kia Ora Whanau/Caregivers

Well it's been another busy week in room 15. We had the Giant skateboard at school on Monday. Tamariki from local schools were invited and the children made the words GET ON BOARD NZ!

It was great to have the Promotion of  Tokyo Olympics  2021 start their tour at Kaikohe West School. The Skateboard was going to tour 41 other towns and cities.

The Teina team are fully focusing  their efforts on fundraising  to get our Teina to Auckland  around August this year.  We are going to visit Kelly Tartlon's and the Auckland Zoo.  If you have any wonderful ideas to  fundraise, please get hold of your child's  Kaiako. Thank you for your continued support.

                                              The  Giant Skateboard!

Che'la enjoyed dressing up during our learning through play on                                                                  Friday afternoon with rooms 6,10,14,15 and 16.

Nivanah received a Netball award for player of the day.

Peter and Waiaroha  had their photo taken in front of the Duffy Car.

I am very pleased to see Westpac sponsoring such an important part                                                        of our Education- Having a balanced reading approach.

Next Thursday the Teina Team are going to be at the Thursday Kaikohe Markets raising funds to our Trip to Auckland in August! We will be selling Sausage Sizzle, Nachos, Home baking and home grown Produce. If you have anything to contribute please get hold of your child's  Kaiako ASAP!! The Thursday Markets start at  3.30-6pm

I hope you have a great week.

Mother's Day 2021

 Sunday 9th May 2021

Kia Ora Whanau/Caregivers

I hope everyone has had a great Mother's day 2021. Room 15 enjoyed making  their Mother's day cards.

The first week back we had 3 birthdays in our class. Nivanah  and Kingston turned 6 and  Blue turned 7 years old.

Nanny Rachel loves reading with room 6 and 15. The tamariki are so spoilt  having someone who cares so much about their well being and  Education.

Nivanah, Kingston and Blue had their birthdays the first week back at                                                        school.

Nivanah and Waimirirangi love having Nanny Rachel in Room 15.

Virginia, Silas, Reign and Luchiano transitioned from Room 16 to Room                                                   15.

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend.
