Successful spellers and proud Tamariki

Term 3, Week 2

WOW, this week has flown by so quickly. I was sick for two days this week and would like to say thank you to my fantastic relievers, Mrs Neale and Whaea Desiree. They both took charge of the classroom and carried on with authentic learning, thank you ladies.

We had tremendous success this week in spelling also. We had 7 out of 17 children get 100% in their spelling tests. Spelling is a huge part of literacy and is becoming an essential part of our learning. A special mention  goes to Jay-Jay who got 100% also, he is now on essential list 2, well done to his whanau for supporting him as well.

We are in the midst of training for cross country in week 5, we are working on improving our fitness levels and running more than we are walking.

Below are some pictures of our exciting week in Ruma whitu.
Very proud teacher moment!!

I love Jahzaay's successful smile. He is proud of himself for being star of the day

I hope you all had a happy holiday and enjoyed some quality time with your children. Next week is Maori language week with a focus on learning simple phrases, we will learn some and your tamariki will share these with you. I am also going to be handing out prizes to the children that speak the most Te Reo through the week.

I captured Eugene and Jevahn with their class certificates they received at our school assembly on Friday.
