Room 7 cares about their teacher

Term 2, Week 10

Hi Whanau,

This week I have been feeling quite sore with a painful lower back and I hurt my tennis elbow. The children made me some beautiful get well cards for me when I got back on Friday. They made me feel so appreciated and special. I have shared some captions with you below.

Here is a beautiful note from Promise

Jahzaay wrote me a really caring note also.

Skylah created another pic collage creation.

These beautiful notes and cards certainly make me feel better.  We only have another week until the end of term 2. Keep up reading with your beautiful and talented children.

Happy children = Happy Learners

Term 2, Week 9

I can't believe it is already nearly the end of term.  I tested Jade, Leecaeshian, Tina Rose and Shiyah on their 6 year net assessments his week. They all achieved so well. I picked up on some important teaching points to practise next week.

Skylah has been creating some wonderful pic collage creations- Learn, Create and share has been happening for Skylah. She is so proud of her Mahi. She loves to share her learning with Room 7.

Skylah's pic collage- Wet pets

Skylah's other creation - about fish images

Santino's certificate- he felt very proud of his great behaviour and mat manners all week.

Maia's certifiate- She was very proud of herself.

TinaRose got her name picked out from the yellow box for being at school every day and for keeping off the traffic light. Aren't books just the best!!!

I hope you all have a great week and look after yourselves because quite a few children have been going home sick and there is a nasty cold and cough going around.

Put up Presents for Room 7

Term 2, Week 8, 2015

Kia Ora Whanau/Parents

This week at kaikohe West we have been focussing on Put up's towards each other and teachers alike. I heard many awesome encouraging comments  during the week. It was so nice to hear children affirming each other's abilities by commenting and noticing on the successes through the week.

In Room 7 this week I picked Jade. All through the week we showed his encouragement by saying  "well done Maia for doing a great job". He really lifted the feeling of caring this week in our class. Next week we are going to continue with the theme and another one noticed by Ma Te Hira- to keep our hands and feet to our selves.- Own personal spaces.

Here is Jade and LeeCaeshian with their presents for their put up's. LeeCaeshian was nominated  by his Passion week teacher Whaea Teruru for encouraging his peers by saying " you can do it" don't give up.

This is the before picture of their pressies.

Shaney and Ziggy showing off their certificates they received at assembly.

I hope you have a great weekend. Looking forward to seeing you all at parent teacher interviews next Tuesday the 16th June 2015.

Success and Learning in Room 7

Term 2, Week 7 2015

Wow, it's been a really busy week after passion week. I have finished writing the children's reports and am very pleased with the progress they have been making. Room 7 ran the school assembly on friday, they were so excited and enjoyed being confident lions and not shy little mouse's!!!

They all spoke in confident voices, I was so proud of you all. The tamariki shared the popcorn shakers they started to make with Mrs Neale on Wednesday, they looked and sounded fantastic. The popcorn was pretty amazing as well.
Whatu got his name picked out of the caught being good box and got a  bag of  Pineapple lumps- YUM, NOM. Eruera got his name pulled out from the yellow box for being at school every day and for not going on the traffic light through the week.

Well done boys, you are a great example of being successful in Room 7.

They were balancing their popcorn shakers on their heads.

I hope you have a great weekend and don't forget we have parent teacher interviews the 16th June fro 2-7pm. I am looking forward to seeing lots of parents and to share the success and achievement of their tamariki.
