Literacy experts in Room 7

Term 1 Week 6

I hope you are managing to keep safe from the horrible wind and rain. We had a busy week this week in class. We had an assembly on Monday and  Friday. Tuna finally managed to win the most house points for the week. Well done to all the Tuna children in room 7. Whetu and Skylah  received certificates this week, Skylah  spelt  many words correct in the Peters spelling test  and she is only a year 1.We have a new boy Whetu, I hope he enjoys his time in our class. We were lucky also to get 3 new IPads in the class, the children were so excited.
This week I captured some photos of the children practising writing their basic sight words.
Here is shaney practising her basic sight words

Eurera and Shawnee-Ann  with their certificates from last week

Kayne looking proud of himself

Ziggy showing us some of the spelling words he can write by himself

I hope you have a great week and don't forget to bring your togs and towel to school on Tuesday and Thursday. Please remember to read with your child each night.
